| Fundraising Coach
Lisa Rossi has been in fundraising for more than 20 years. She will share insight on how to leverage fundraising dollars to
secure grant funding.
Currently serving as Chief Development Officer for Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas since June of 2005, Lisa is
responsible for all aspects of development fundraising and manages the departments of development, volunteer, media
relations and events. She is accountable for providing a diversified funding base with multiple donation options and
capabilities. Additionally, Lisa is responsible for geographically and demographically analyzing the database and
continually mapping current donors and event attendees. Furthermore, Lisa handles organizational branding, preparation
of cohesive marketing materials, the website and development of a planned giving program.
As Senior Vice President at the SPCA of Texas, Lisa oversaw the development division which includes membership, sponsor
programs, planned giving, grants and sponsorship, constituent relations, capital and all revenue development programs.
Lisa also managed media relations, education, social services, marketing, and creative services. She participated in
the formation and execution of short and long-range goals and strategies and assured the agency had a long-range plan.
Working closely with the Board of Directors and various committees on fundraising and special projects, she maintained
and created new funding programs and outreach initiatives. She increased the revenue base from $1.6 million and 18,000
donors to $8 million and over 46,000 donors.
Lisa served as Director of Development for the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Society from 1985 until January 1996.
During her tenure, the membership base increased from 600 members to over 10,000.
An Oklahoma transplant, Lisa hails from Ponca City - home of Conoco Oil. After graduation from high school, she
attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a B.M.E. Her son, Scott R. Jones, is a soldier in the U.S. Army,
served a 13-month tour in Iraq and is now stationed in Brunson, Netherlands with his wife and two children. She makes her
home in downtown Dallas with her two dogs and cat. Her favorite quote is from the book Without Reservations, by Alice
Steinbach: "Buck up, I told myself. If Freya Stark can raft down the Euphrates River at the age of eighty-six, I ought
to be able to..."
